iPad - What's the Big Deal?

The iPad has taken the main screen throughout the modern world. Many critics claim it is nothing but a jumbo sized iPhone, but there are many people around who say the opposite.

To say the least, the iPad is indeed simply a bigger form of the iPhone, but this large size comes with a lot of new functionality. Several people do not have an iPhone due to the fact it is incredibly difficult to type on. But with the iPad's just about full sized keyboard, this is no longer an issue.

One unfortunate feature of the iPad is that it cannot be used as a phone. Even though Verizon has the iPad and sells them with service plans, calls are not able to be made or received with them. It would be decently awkward to hold an iPad up to your head, but a speaker phone or even a video chat mode would be amazing.

One of the best features, it appears, is the amazing improvement of battery life from the iPhone or iPod Touch. Reports show that the iPad's battery can last up to 12 hours of perpetual use, which is amazing for the size of the display.

While not pocket sized, the iPad can be carried in a case like a computer. It can be used while you walk, or pretty much anywhere else one could use a computer or phone. It's not nearly as useful as a computer, but Apple says it will be there in the near future.

Even though the iPad started bad, and a lot of people blew it off as a giant iPhone, the brand is still going great. The release date of the iPad 2 will be unveiled very soon, and many people have insanely high hopes for the second generation of this device.
